student grant approved!
We all want to see this don't we?

Well, some college grants are much easier to get approval than you might have thought, from either the Government or even a private organisation. Student grants are an excellent way to help fund your time at college because they are lump sums of money that are given away to qualifying students without having to pay the money back.

How do you qualify for a student or college grant? So what is a qualifying student?

Well you must meet certain criteria, for example Federal grants are awarded to students that display financial need, whilst other private school grants may require a high grade point average (GPA) or a strong athletic background for example. There are numerous grants available and it is a good idea to apply to as many as you can, as this increases the possibility of more free money.

What types of college grants are avaliable? What types of grants are there?

Probably the most well know type of Federal grant is the Federal Pell grant which given to students that are awarded to undergraduate students. It is based on financial need, current costs and circumstances and if you qualify the maximum amount you can get is $4050 which will be paid out by your school.

Another type of Federal grant is the Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOGs). Priority is given to students that have already been awarded the Pell Grant and you can be given anywhere between $100 and $4000 every year.

Then there are grants that are handed over from private organizations and companies as well and it may be worth looking into this.

There are many, many more types of college grants available both Federal and private than mentioned here and it is advisable that you look right into it.

You may also want to search in some of the larger grant search engines as they can match your circumstances to the grants and find the ones most relevant to you and look at the various college scholarship opportunities.
